Adelaide Tamil Association Womens wing
On 30th October 2013, ATA women’s wing was launched including the ATA Mothers and young females, as an attempt to implement equal opportunity and rights as the basis for the right growth. The group strengthened the association and through their individual efforts, brought in renaissance to the association as well as took several attempts to do community services assuming leadership. The Women’s wing has continued to conduct events such as Women’s Day and “Nilaachoru” (community dinner in moonlight).
Being dormant for a while, women’s wing was rejuvenated due to the efforts of 2020-2021 executive committee, by re-launching with 9 coordinators on 01st November 2020.
This committee serves to accept the multicultural diaspora here in Australia while nourishing our Tamil culture and developing leadership skills and individual talents in women. In addition to this, the women’s wing also conducts events to the members of the community, particularly women on family, education, food, and health and continue to work with the guidance of the executive Committee.
